English meaning:

For those mad men who are in love with the full moon of tirukkadavUr,
a courtesan and mukthi or enlightenment are one and the same.

How?

The courtesan removes her clothes and becomes nude for her master.
Enlightenment results in the person losing body consciousness and thereby clothes.
The courtesan touches the body and provides true sexual pleasure.
Enlightenment leads to true spiritual joy.
The courtesan destroys the master's house and his wealth.
Enlightenment results in the person letting go of home and wealth.
The joy that a courtesan gives is secret and therefore cannot be disclosed to anybody.
The joy of enlightenment is that of the Vedas (maRai in Tamil means both hidden and the Vedas or any scripture in general) and is not disclosed by its nature.
